KeeplockApp Store

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-07

1. Core principle — zero data transmission

Keeplock performs all photo analysis and classification entirely on your device. No photos, metadata, or analysis results are ever sent to any server. Face recognition and scene classification use Apple's Vision Framework locally — no communication with Apple's servers or any external service occurs.

2. Information accessed

To provide its features, the app uses the following information exclusively on your device:

  • Photos and videos on your device (via PhotoKit)
  • EXIF metadata (capture date/time, camera make and model, ISO, shutter speed, etc.)
  • Favorite flags, file sizes, resolutions, aspect ratios, and album membership
  • Local image analysis results from Vision Framework (similarity scores, scene classifications, etc.)

None of the above is ever transmitted off your device.

3. Photo library access

The app requests photo library access for the purposes listed below. If you deny access, the corresponding features will be unavailable.

  • Read access (NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription)Used to display photo thumbnails, read metadata, detect similar and duplicate photos, and show photos in full-screen comparison view.

You can change or revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

4. Data storage

All settings and user preferences are stored locally on your device in UserDefaults and Application Support. No data is synced to iCloud Drive, included in iCloud backups, or sent to external servers.

5. Analytics and tracking

Keeplock does not use Firebase Analytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or any third-party analytics SDK. The app does not collect your Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and does not perform any user tracking subject to App Tracking Transparency. Crash reports use only Apple's standard App Store Connect reporting (governed by Apple's privacy policy).

6. Third-party disclosure

Information collected or processed by this app is never sold, shared, or disclosed to third parties (advertisers, data brokers, partner companies, etc.). Your information will not leave the device except where required by a lawful request from competent authorities.

7. Children under 13

This app is not directed at children under 13. If a child under 13 uses this app, it should be under parental supervision. Because the app collects no personal information from users of any age, it does not collect information in a manner that would be subject to COPPA or similar children's privacy regulations.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy is revised, the Last Updated date on this page will be updated. For significant changes, we will also note them in the App Store "What's New" section.

9. EEA & UK users' rights (GDPR)

The App does not collect, transmit, store, or process any personal data on any server. All processing happens entirely on your device, and no photos, metadata, or analysis results ever leave it, so no international data transfer within the meaning of the GDPR takes place. To the extent the GDPR applies, the Operator is the controller; however, because the Operator holds no personal data about you, there is no data held by the Operator against which to exercise the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection. Data stored on your device is fully under your control and can be removed at any time by deleting the App. For questions, contact us via the support page.

10. California users' rights (CCPA / CPRA)

The App does not "collect," "sell," or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and it does not disclose or sell personal information to third parties. California residents have rights under California law, but because the App collects no personal information, there is no information subject to disclosure, deletion, or opt-out.

11. Data retention and deletion

The App's data — such as settings and analysis results — is stored only on your device and is never retained on the Operator's servers. Deleting (uninstalling) the App removes the App's data stored on your device. Your photos and videos are managed by the iOS Photos app; the App never copies or stores them anywhere off your device.

12. Governing law

This policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
